So my family and I are taking our very first trip to Disney this December. Planning this trip has been so much fun! We are staying at the Port Orleans Riverside. Has anyone had an experience with that resort before? it looked to be very nice. We are also hoping to take in a couple of the dinner theaters. Any suggestions on very special things to do would be great. We are all adults so this will be a no kid trip!

Did you enjoy your trip? I stayed at the Pop Century Resort right before Christmas, too. It was magical!
1Hi,
we surprised our children with a trip for Christmas 2007. Depending on which days you are there, you will need to think about crowds. The week between Christmas and New Year's is the worse. We left the day after Christmas ~ I planned for crowds. What are your dates?
We went to the Spirit of Aloha dinner show at the Polynesian 2 yrs ago. Cirque De Soleil at Downtown Disney has wonderful reviews although we have not been.
When it's only my husband and I we like Pleasure Island and dining at the better restaurants. Disney has some of the best restaurants I have eaten at. You will need to start making your dining reservations 180 days in advance. I highly recommend wdwinfo.com, mousesavers, com and allears.net Birnbaums' Official Guide is good to have.
We went on the sleigh ride at the Wilderness Lodge and MVMCP (Mickey's Christmas Party). Those are musts! You will LOVE them.
Have fun planning your trip!! It's part of the fun =)
2Ok, I know that this post was from EONS ago, but I've stayed at Riverside before. I thought it was alright there, but for the same price you can stay at the French Quarter, which in my opinion is much nicer. It sort of has a cozier feel to it and it's not too big. Plus all the bus rides are short, and you generally don't have to sit through too many stops. I guess that last comment only applies if you don't have a car that you're driving to the parks...
